LTC Brandon A. Shah Leadership Foundation
Honoring the life and leadership of LTC Brandon A. Shah by investing in future leaders, supporting military families, and carrying forward a legacy of service.
Lieutenant Colonel Brandon A. Shah dedicated his life to serving others—as a Soldier, Army aviator, commander, educator, mentor, husband and father.
He believed leadership was not defined by rank or recognition, but by character, responsibility and a commitment to the people entrusted to your care.
The LTC Brandon A. Shah Leadership Foundation was created to ensure that his example continues to inspire and support generations to come.
A Legacy That Lives On
Brandon served our country for more than two decades. He flew combat missions, commanded Soldiers, mentored young leaders and ultimately returned to Old Dominion University to lead the Army ROTC Monarch Battalion.
On March 12, 2026, while teaching an Army ROTC class at ODU, Brandon was fatally wounded while protecting his cadets from an armed assailant.
His actions that day were extraordinary. But they were also consistent with the way he had lived his entire life: putting service before self and accepting responsibility for the people around him.
The Foundation exists to carry that example forward.
Our Mission
The LTC Brandon A. Shah Leadership Foundation exists to honor Brandon’s legacy by investing in future military leaders, supporting Gold Star families, strengthening ROTC and JROTC communities, and advancing the values of leadership, integrity and service that defined his life.
"Brandon dedicated his life to serving others. He believed that leadership was never about rank—it was about character, humility, and lifting others along the way. This Foundation is my promise that his legacy will continue to inspire future leaders, support military families, and create opportunities for generations to come. Through every scholarship awarded, every family supported, and every life impacted, Brandon's leadership will continue to live on."
